"DATE: 07-02-08 Appearance: Lemon with green tints.
Nose: Lemon-lime, grapefruit, mineral with light spices and florat notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate follows the nose, with some silkiness on the midpalate, and a very good long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Ten-year riesling is good now but will pack much more flavour by 2015. Best currently with flavourful foods, it will become a stand-alone interesting sipping wine in a few years. This assumes that you like the petrol character that riesling can develop with age." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Our 2007 Butler’s Grant Riesling showcases the unique terroir of the famed vineyard form the 20 Mile Bench appellation. The nose shows intense perfume and spice character of jasmine, ginger spice, pear and mango with hints of minerality. The palate is rich and full with a lacy stream of acidity running through, balancing a very subtle sweetness. Excellent finish."
