"DATE: 05-13-08 Appearance: Light straw.
Nose: Lightly floral nose with peach/apricot and spicy tropical fruit.
Palate: Medium with moderate acidity, a heavyweight. Big wine, almost dessert in mouthfeel, late harvest character. Soft tropical fruit and some fat/rich character midpalate, with a good long clean fruity finish.
Conclusions: This wine falls comfortably into that hard-to-define middle of the road type that is not sweet enough for dessert, nor quite dry enough for food. I think of wines like these (and I LOVE them) as Social in nature, best consumed on their own for their own sake. No need to recommend foods with this one. And it should last five to ten years, gaining complexity as it goes. Unless I have the price wrong $16.49 per 750 ml is exceptional value for flavour junkies." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"The Kerner grapes originate from two distinct vineyards in the Okanagan Valley. Harvested in October at 24.2 Brix. A yeast strain specifically designed for late harvest wines was employed. Cool fermented to retain maximum flavours.

Lemon in hue, this wine's layered aroma suggests ripe peaches and spiced pears. The complex flavours range from butter to lemon tarts. Subtly light on the palate, this wine finishes with delicate elegance and finesse, with a hint of natural sweetness. Served chilled, this wine is attractive on its own, with salads and fresh fruits and with fresh salmon with hollandaise."
