"DATE: 03-23-07 Appearance: Ruby with some brick at the rim.
Nose: Cherry, vanilla, beet, strawberry and spiciness from the oak.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Clean fruit on the attack, slowly developing into spicy barnyard midpalate, good weight and rich mouthfeel. Fruit has a non-sugary sweetness due to intensity. Very long clean finish.
Conclusions: Great pinot is not fully developed yet despite its age. In another 4-5 years it will really show what it is made of. Great now, wonderful later." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"The First Growth Pinot Noir is complex and rugged with aromas of smoky oak, ripe cherry and a hint of barnyard. The palate is loaded with fresh plum, cherry and red currant fruit with hints of vanilla, pepper and a touch of earthiness. The finish is hearty with a distinct intensity to the tannins that makes it an exceptional compliment to any meal."
